What You’ll Do:

As the Head of Engineering at Secoda, you will play a critical role in our company. You will:

  • Lead, mentor, and scale the engineering team, fostering a culture of high performance, quality, and velocity.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Design, and Customer Success, to shape and execute the product and engineering roadmap, ensuring our solutions meet customer needs and drive significant value.

  • Drive technical strategy and architecture decisions, staying ahead of scale challenges and technological advancements.

  • Champion engineering best practices, ensuring our platform’s reliability, security, and performance.

  • Play a crucial role in recruitment, hiring, and nurturing top engineering talent, building a diverse and inclusive team.

  • Act as a key stakeholder in strategic decisions, leveraging data to guide technology choices and business direction.

  • Foster a culture of ownership, where every team member feels empowered and accountable for the success of our platform and our customers.

Who You Are:

  • You have 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with a significant portion in a leadership role, ideally in a startup environment.

  • You have a proven track record of building, leading, and scaling engineering teams in fast-paced environments.

  • You excel in strategic planning, able to align technology with business goals, driving significant product and technological advancements.

  • You are a strong communicator, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • You embody Secoda’s core values, with a passion for data, a customer-first mindset, and a commitment to excellence in everything you do.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in our core technologies: React (TypeScript), Python (Django), Postgres, and AWS.

  • Familiarity with data tools such as Snowflake, BigQuery, Tableau, Looker, Mode, dbt, and Fivetran.

  • Experience navigating the unique challenges of early-stage startups.
